Britain's share of foreign direct investment has shrunk sharply this year as rival locations across Europe prove more attractive. It secured 150 fewer such investments in the six months to June, a drop of 25pc, according to a survey by accountacy firm Ernst & Young. In addition, the UK's share of the European market for investment slipped from 22pc last year to 16pc. Central and Eastern European countries saw their project numbers grow by 54pc, the survey shows. //www.fxcentre.com
