NEW YORK (AFX) - Wal-Mart Stores Inc said August comparable same-store sales will come in at the low end of the 4-6 pct growth range forecast by the company.
The sales period runs from Aug 3-30 and results for the month will be published on Sept 5. In its weekly sales update for the week to Aug 16, the retailer said warm weather has hit back-to-school sales.
"Back-to-school sales are off to a slow start as warm weather has affected apparel sales," it said. Sales in the week were driven by electronic goods, pet supplies and food while the UK remains the retailer's strongest international market, it said//www.forexdirectory.net
