21 May 2002, 10:58 U.S. Stocks Fall As Investors Cautious Due To Terrorism Fears
U.S. stock indexes fell Monday as investors turned cautious after
Vice President Dick Cheney voiced concern Sunday that another terrorist
attack on U.S. soil is "almost a certainty." Dow ended the session with
a loss of 123.58 points or 1.19% at 10229.50. Nasdaq ended the session
down 39.80 points or 2.29% at 1701.59. S&P 500 sagged 14.72 points or
1.33% at 1091.88. Within blue chips only 4 stocks were able to post
gains, Home Depot, McDonald's, Merck and ATT, all the rest were losers. //MarketNews
