The Nasdaq ended higher despite IBM's earnings warning, closing up 15.84 points or 0.89% at 1785.87. The S&P 500 also closed up, gaining 2.55 points or 0.23% at 1125.11. The Dow industrials, by contrast, did not manage to close in positive territory amid negative news including Iraq's announcement it was suspending oil exports from Monday for a month. Despite a late session recovery, the Dow closed down 22.56 points or 0.22% at 10249.08.
