The Dow industrials closed down 115.42 points or 1.12% at 10198.29. The Nasdaq ended down 20.05 points or 1.11% at 1784.35. The S&P 500 shed 11.52 points or 1.01% to close at 1125.24. There was a general uneasiness about the conflagration in the Middle East and that gave the Treasury market an ongoing flight-to-quality bid to the detriment of stocks. Concerns about corporate earnings also continued to weigh.
