The Dow Jones Industrial Average opened on a positive note Tuesday, but rapidly fell into the red and remained in negative territory the whole session. The index closed at 10,433.41, just of its day's low of 10,425.05, giving up 153.41 points after a 217.96-point rally Monday. The S&P 500 closed down 7.71 points or 0.67% at 1,146.13. By contrast, the Nasdaq Composite closed up 0.37% or 6.97 point at 1866.29.
