14 March 2002, 13:53  US Retail Sales +0.3% in Feb, Ex-Autos +0.2%

A combination of price discounting and consumers pausing in buying, especially in nonessentials, are the probable causes that U.S. February retail and food services sales came in surprisingly weaker than expected. February retail & food sales posted +0.3%, and ex-auto sales came in at +0.2%. //MarketNews
