U.S. share prices were slightly at the close Friday after mostly favorable economic news failed to spark a rally. The S&P 500, down about 2.2 percent on the year, was off 8.00 points at the end, where it settled at 1122.19. The Dow industrials finished down 12.74, at 9907.26 and the Nasdaq composite dropped 1.2%, 22.79 points at 1911.24.
