27 February 2002, 11:46  Yen, Euro Eke Out Gains

The dollar slipped modestly in Asian trade Wednesday, as both the yen and the euro regained some poise following Tuesday's move lower. Trade was reported as light ahead of major events later in the global session. Traders said many market participants were awaiting the formal release of the Japanese government's anti-deflation package and Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan's semi-annual testimony to Congress. The yen ended Asian trade at Y134.42 against the dollar, with the euro at $0.8627 against the greenback.//MarketNews
