LONDON (AFX) - UK provisional M4 money supply was up 0.4 pct in
January on a seasonally-adjusted basis from December and was 6.0 pct
higher than in the same month a year earlier, the Bank of England said.
The AFX News median of analysts' forecasts was for M4 to have risen
0.5 pct month-on-month and 6.2 pct year-on-year.
January provisional M4 lending rose 11.0 bln stg on a
seasonally-adjusted basis, which was equivalent to a 0.9 pct increase
month-on-month and a 7.8 pct annual rise.
The AFX News median of analysts' forecasts was for M4 lending to
have risen by 6.2 bln stg.
