Argentina's new economic officials "know what needs to be done" to repair the country's financial crisis, according to John Taylor, Treasury's under secretary for international affairs. "It's a good economic team," he said Thursday. Taylor reiterated Bush administration policy on dollarization by foreign governments, saying currency issues are best left to individual countries themselves. On Japan, Taylor said, "The non-performing loan problem is still there" and also called Japan to address its deflation problem. However, banking issues are not currently a threat to global economic stability. //MarketNews
