1152 GMT - Euro steady at $0.8730 after data shows German consumer prices rose 0.9 percent on the month and 2.1 percent on the year in January versus an annual rate of 1.7 percent in December. - Germany harmonised consuner prices rose 2.2 percent on the year versus 1.5 percent on the year in December. - German statistics office says data shows introduction of euro notes and coin had little impact on inflation but analysts said figures still make a near-term Euroopean Central Bank rate cut less likely. - Traders say there is talk of European national central banks supporting the euro at $0.86 for commercial purposes and also of an option barrier at $0.8550.
