MILAN (AFX) - Italian retail sales rose 1.5 pct in November, from a year earlier, said the ISTAT statistical office. Retail sales rose 0.1 pct on a seasonally-adjusted basis from Oct, ISTAT said. Food sales were up 1.8 pct in November on a year-on-year basis while non-food was up 1.4 pct. Sales in large stores were up 2.7 pct. On a seasonally-adjusted basis, food sales fell 0.1 pct, from October, while non-food rose 0.3. Eleven month sales rose 2.0 pct, including 2.1 in food and 1.9 in non-food, it said.
