BERLIN (AFX) - German industrial output fell a seasonally adjusted
2.1 pct in October from September, after a revised fall of 1.8 pct last
month, the finance ministry said.
Market consensus was for a seasonally adjusted fall of 0.9 pct.
Adjusted only for the number of working days, it fell 3.9 pct in
October from September, it said.
Manufacturing output fell a seasonally adjusted 2.5 pct in October
from September, while construction output rose 5.3 pct, it said.
On a two-monthly comparison, industrial output fell a seasonally
adjusted 1.9 pct in September/October from July/August, or fell 3.2 pct
when adjusted only for the number of working days, it said.
Manufacturing output fell a seasonally adjusted 1.8 pct, while
construction output rose 0.7 pct.
In west Germany industrial output fell a seasonally adjusted 2.3
pct in October from September, or fell 4.1 pct when adjusted only for
the number of working days, it said. Manufacturing output fell a
seasonally adjusted 2.7 pct, while construction output rose 5.8 pct.
On a two-monthly comparison, west German industrial output fell a
seasonally adjusted 1.8 pct in September/October from July/August, or
fell 3.4 pct when adjusted only for the number of working days, it
said. Manufacturing output fell a seasonally adjusted 1.9 pct, while
construction output rose 0.5 pct.
In east Germany industrial output rose a seasonally adjusted 0.2
pct in October from September, or fell 1.5 pct when adjusted only for
the number of working days, it said. Manufacturing output rose a
seasonally adjusted 0.3 pct, while construction output rose 3.4 pct.
On a two-monthly comparison, east German industrial output fell a
seasonally adjusted 1.6 pct in September/October from July/August, or
fell 1.5 pct when adjusted only for the number of working days, it
said. Manufacturing output fell a seasonally adjusted 2.2 pct, while
construction output rose 1.0 pct.
