NEUCHATEL, Switzerland (AFX) - Swiss producer prices in November fell 0.2 pct from October, while the import price index declined 1.2 pct, the Federal Statistics Office said. Swiss producer prices fell slightly on the weakening economic climate and cost reductions made on the cheaper imports, while the import price index was pushed lower by the sharp price reduction of imported oil and metal products and the strong sfr, it said. In October, the producer price index was down 0.3 pct from September, and the import price index down 1.3 pct in the period. The producer price index (May 1993=100) was 95.8 in November compared with 96.0 in October, while the import price index (May 1993=100) was 96.1 down from 97.3 in October. Both indices together were down 0.5 pct from October and down 2.0 pct from a year earlier.
