Despite the ongoing scale of the economic malaise in Japan, the poll ratings of the cabinet are climbing again, according to reports. The latest poll conducted on December 8/9 by NHK TV shows Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi's cabinet popularity ratings rose 6 percentage points to 77%. Additionally, the disapproval rate fell by 4 percentage points to 14%.
