TOKYO, Nov 28 - Bank of Japan Governor Masaru Hayami said on Wednesday that it should not take much longer for banks to resolve their bad loan problems if they stick to their recently announced write-off plans. ``When the banks reported their end-September earnings, they said they will clean up bad loans totalling 6.4 trillion yen ($51.67 billion), among the bigger banks alone, by the end of March,'' Hayami told an Upper House financial committee. ``I want to give high marks for the effort, and if they keep up this pace I don't think it will take much more time. The Financial Services Agency estimates that the problem will be resolved within three years and the government's Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy also think so.''
