Dollar trying to edge higher again on a range of currencies after early profit-taking faded, but trade very choppy ahead of a shortened week. -- Dollar at 123.10 yen after finding solid support at the session's 122.97 low. But dealers wary of testing rumoured Asian bank offers around 123.50. -- Euro wavering at $0.8790 after its early bounce failed to clear U.S. bank offers at 88 cents. Usual talk of euro-zone national central bank bids under $0.8770. -- Euro-zone industrial production data due later Tuesday a potential hazard for the currency with analysts expecting a sizeable fall of around 1.2 percent in September. -- Sterling vulnerable at $1.4140 after diving 1- cents overnight to a four-month low around $1.4088. Break of support at $1.4200 seen bearish, leading to talk of testing $1.4000.
