Initial claims for U.S. state unemployment declined for the third consecutive week in the week of Nov. 10, dropping 8,000 to 444,000, the lowest level since September, the Labor Department said Thursday. Unadjusted initial claims increased however, rising 13,900 to 457,716, indicating that the seasonal adjustment factor is responsible for this week's decline.
