Mortgage lending eased to its lowest level for four months in September and approvals declined, suggesting that the housing market may have reached a turning point, the Bank of England reported. Seasonally adjusted net mortgage lending rose Stg4.517 billion in September, down from a previous record Stg5.114 billion figure in August. The value of new loans approved in September also fell, to Stg13.818 billion from Stg14.471 billion in August.//MarketNews
