30 October 2001, 09:29  The dollar continued under pressure vs most majors

at the close Monday, with traders left baffled by the abrupt shift in dollar sentiment between last week and today. "It's crazy," said one U.S. trader, referring to how quickly market participants shifted from dollar bulls to dollar bears from one day to the next. The euro-dollar ended the day at $0.9047, well up from Friday's close at $0.8919. Dollar-yen closed at Y121.96, down from the Y122.80 levels seen late Friday afternoon. New York traders sold dollars Monday morning and afternoon, following the pattern established by Asian and European players earlier in the day. //MarketNews
