TOKYO - Japan's industrial production fell a seasonally adjusted
2.9% in September from the previous month to its second worst level
since the burst of the "bubble economy" in the early 1990s, the
Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said Monday.
The index of output at mines and factories fell to 92.8 against
the 1995 base of 100, the lowest reading since the 92.6 of January
1994, when it hit bottom after the economic bubble collapsed, the
ministry said in a preliminary report.
