The inventory conditions index for large firms, which measures the
number of firms which feel they have excessive inventories less those
which feel their inventories fall short, underlined the rising pressure
on inventory adjustment.
The September figures that follow are compared with the June data:
Large manufacturers - 36 vs 32
Large base material producers - 40 vs 35
Large processors - 34 vs 32
Mid- and small-sized manufacturers - 33 vs 30
Mid- and small base material producers - 42 vs 39
Mid- and small processors - 27 vs 24
The actual indices contained in the latest report compare with the
following forecasts for September released in the June survey:
Large manufacturers - 18
Large base material producers - 20
Large processors - 17
Mid- and small-sized manufacturers - 23
Mid- and small base material producers - 33
Mid- and small processors - 18
The central bank provided the following forecasts for the December
indices:
Large manufacturers - 22
Large base material producers - 28
Large processors - 20
Mid- and small-sized manufacturers - 24
