1 October 2001, 10:27 Forex - Australian dollar little changed in early trade
SYDNEY (AFX) - The Australian dollar was little changed in quiet
early trade with the unit expected to trade in a tight range due to
today's public holiday in Sydney, dealers said.
The unit traded between a high of 0.4921 usd and a low of 0.4906.
A trader at a European bank said that with little clear direction
from over the weekend, it is unlikely that the unit will see much
activity today.
"There isn't a whole lot to drive the market today, although the
Tankan may provide some interest. I am expecting it to remain around
current levels in the low 49 cents range until we have everyone back at
work tomorrow and more from offshore," he said.
