PARIS (AFX) - The governor of the Bank of France Jean-Claude Trichet said that he agreed with French finance minister Laurent Fabius's estimate of French GDP growth of 2.3 pct for 2001. Trichet said that he thought the US economy was making a "soft landing" and that the slowdown, although significant, would not end in a recession.
