7 September 2001, 09:24 Japan stocks fall 2.1% after US shares tumble
Tokyo, Sept. 7 (BridgeNews) - Japanese shares ended the morning
session broadly lower as steep overnight falls on Wall Street overcame the
impact of the nation's April-June GDP data, which was slightly better than
expected.
Downward momentum was limited, however, as firmer Asia Globex Nasdaq
futures suggested a better performance in the U.S. later in the day,
traders said. The Nikkei 225 Stock Average fell 222.74 points, or 2.1%, to
10,427.59.
