21 September 2001, 13:21 SNB "extremely worried" about rise of Swiss franc vs euro
ZURICH (AFX) - The Swiss National Bank (SNB) said it is "extremely
worried" about the Swiss franc's recent rise against the euro, after
the euro today slumped to an alltime low of 1.45 sfr.
As a result, the SNB has decided to lower its interest rates on
repurchase agreements by 20 basis points an SNB spokesman told AFX
News.
At 10.45 am, the euro was at 1.4522 sfr, while the dollar dropped
to 1.5739 sfr.
