LONDON (AFX) - UK consumer confidence fell in August according to
the latest monthly survey from GfK Great Britain Ltd, carried out on
behalf of the European Commission, with the report's headline consumer
confidence barometer falling to 0 from +4 the previous month.
GfK said the drop reflects falls in four out of the five measures
making up the headline index. The biggest fall was recorded in
perceptions of the economic situation over the next 12 months.
The only improvement was seen in the score for perceptions of
developments in personal finances.
The table below provides a summary of the main findings of the
latest GfK survey.
