27 August 2001, 11:06  Japan July industrial output seen down 2.1%, but above METI outlook

Tokyo, Aug. 7 (BridgeNews) - Japan's seasonally adjusted industrial production for July will likely confirm the government's official economic view that "the economy is deteriorating further." Economists' forecasts for the July output averaged a 2.1% fall on month, slightly better than the outlook of a 2.3% drop by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
