MADRID (AFX) - The unemployment rate fell to 8.60 pct in July from 8.65 pct in June, the Labour Ministry said. In a statement, the ministry said the number of jobless declined by 9,117, or 0.62 pct, in July from the previous month to 1.451 mln, the lowest level since 1980. Over the past year, the number of unemployed has fallen by 37,316, or 2.51 pct, it added. The unemployment rate was at its lowest level since 1979 in July.
