13 August 2001, 09:27  Dow posts triple digit gains; Nasdaq slips

New York, Aug. 10 (BridgeNews) - U.S. stocks staged an impressive turnaround, with the Dow Jones industrials trimming an earlier 101-point loss and the Nasdaq paring a 2% decline, as selling pressure abated after a week-long rout. The Dow Jones industrial average ended up 117.69, or 1.14%, to 10,416.25 and the Nasdaq Composite index was down 6.84, or 0.35%, to 1956.48. The S&P 500 was up 6.74, or 0.57%, to 1190.17.
