6 July 2001, 17:42 Sweden's Riksbank lifts key repo rate to 4.25%
Stockholm, July 6 (BridgeNews) - The Swedish central bank, the
Riksbank, raised its key repo rate by 0.25 percentage points to 4.25%. The
Riksbank said it made the decision because "the risk of inflation
exceeding the Riksbank's 2% target 1-2 years from now is judged to have
become somewhat greater. This mainly has to do with resource utilization
remaining high, despite the ongoing slowdown, and the Swedish krona's low
value."
