LONDON (AFX) - UK new car registrations rose 11.4 pct compared to June last year, totalling 215,325 units and beating June 1979's previous high of 200,172 units by 7.6 pct, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders said. Importers' market share rose to 76.5 pct in June from 72.8 in the same month last year. Imports accounted for 75.3 pct of the market in the year to date, up from 70.8 pct in the same period last year.
