23 July 2001, 16:03 Germany's N Rhine-Westphalia July annual CPI 2.6% vs June 2.9%
Frankfurt, July 23 (BridgeNews) - The annual consumer price inflation
in the western German state of North Rhine-Westphalia declined to 2.6% in
July from 2.9% in the previous month, with food prices continuing to have
an upward effect on the overall index, the state's statistics office in
Dusseldorf said Monday. In the monthly comparison, consumer prices rose by
0.1%, with the highest rise recorded for package holiday costs.
A BridgeNews survey of economists forecast July German provisional CPI
as up 0.2% on the month and up 2.8% on the year.
