New York, June 29 (BridgeNews) - The Nasdaq Composite index ended slightly higher in an unusual session that was extended until 1700 ET, due to a technical glitch. The Dow industrials, meanwhile, ended lower, weighed down an 8% drop in shares of Honeywell (HON) after hopes for a merger with General Electric (GE) faded. The Nasdaq closed up 36.86, or 1.73%, to 2162.32. The Dow was down 63.81, or 0.60%, to 10,502.40.
