--Conf Bd: U.S. econ outlook remains fragile despite LEI gains
New York, July 19 (BridgeNews) - A key economic forecasting gauge rose in June, although the outlook for the U.S. economy remains fragile, the U.S.Conference Board said Thursday. The index of leading economic indicators, designed to forecast trends in the economy six to nine months in advance, rose 0.3% in June to 109.6, following a 0.4% gain to a revised 109.3 in May, the Conference Board said. The original reading for May LEI also was 109.3.
