19 July 2001, 09:13  Europe stocks end lower on US earnings reports

London, July 18 (BridgeNews) - Europe's major stock markets felt the ripples of earnings worries from across the pond and fell heavily. Despite all the major U.S. indices closing higher on Tuesday, the market was more interested in chip giant Intel's (INTC) figures, which came out after the bell. Although Intel beat expectations, profit was down 76% on the year and the uninspiring outlook put the European markets on a downer from the offset. At 1332 GMT, the U.K.'s FTSE-100 index was down 34.20 points at 5,393.60.
