13 July 2001, 11:21  BOJ votes unanimously to keep monetary policy unchanged

Tokyo, July 13 (BridgeNews) - The Bank of Japan decided Friday to maintain its current monetary policy. Central bank policy board members voted unanimously to continue to trade the unsecured overnight call loan near zero percent and keep the current account at 5 trillion yen. The minutes of the meeting will be released at 1400 JT on Aug 17. The next monetary policy meeting will be held on Aug 13-14.
BOJ board members are likely to have discussed the outlook for the economy, including the "tankan" corporate sentiment survey for June released on July 2. The BOJ will release its latest economic assessment on Monday at 1400 JT and central bank Gov. Masaru Hayami will meet the press at 1500 JT on Tuesday. The BOJ will also release the minutes of the June 14-15 meeting at 1400 JT on Wednesday. Central bank branch managers are due to hold their quarterly meeting on July 26.
