TOKYO (AFX-ASIA) - Domestic wholesale prices in May were flat month-on-month after falling 0.1 in April, the Bank of Japan said. The Bank provided the following May percentage changes, compared with the previous month:
Domestic WPI - flat mth-on-mth vs down 0.1 pct
- down 0.6 pct yr-on-yr vs down 0.7
Export WPI - down 1.5 pct mth-on-mth vs up 0.6
- up 3.6 pct yr-on-yr vs up 6.6
Import WPI - down 1.4 pct mth-on-mth vs up 1.2
- up 9.8 pct yr-on-yr vs up 12.4

Earlier, private sector economists forecast May WPI would fall between 0.5 and 0.8 pct year-on-year, with a consensus of a fall of 0.6 pct.
