29 June 2001, 11:04 European stock markets move higher on strong US opening
London, June 28 (BridgeNews) - European markets moved higher in
late-afternoon trading after taking direction from a strong U.S. opening
after investors digested the latest quarter point cut made by the Federal
Reserve.
The U.K.'s FTSE-100 index was up 30.5 points at 5,592.1 and Germany's
Xetra DAX-30 was up 116.07 points, or 1.99%, at 5,836.17.
