28 June 2001, 11:29  BOJ votes unanimously to keep monetary policy unchanged

Tokyo, June 28 (BridgeNews) - The Bank of Japan decided to keep its monetary policy unchanged on Thursday. Central bank policy board members voted unanimously to continue to trade the unsecured overnight call loan near zero percent and keep the current account at 5 trillion yen. * * * The BOJ will release the results of the June "tankan" survey on corporate sentiment at 0850 JT on Monday. The minutes of the meeting will be released at 1400 JT on Aug 17. The next monetary policy meeting will be held on July 12-13. BOJ Senior Deputy Governor Yutaka Yamaguchi will deliver a speech and meet the press in Sendai on July 5.
