27 June 2001, 11:26 US stocks end mixed after trimming losses in late trade
New York, June 26 (BridgeNews) - The Dow Jones industrial average
ended lower but was well off its worst levels for the day as investors
began to anticipate a Federal Reserve rate cut on Wednesday. The Nasdaq
also pared its losses, ending in the plus column as bottom fishers emerged
after initial weakness. The Nasdaq closed up 13 points, or 0.66%, to 2064.
The Dow was down 32 points, 0.31%, to 10,472 and the S&P 500 was down
1.87, or 0.15%, to 1216.
