Tokyo, June 20 (BridgeNews) - Japan's Cabinet Office has decided to downgrade its gross domestic product growth forecast for the financial year 2001-02 of 1.7% to near 0%, the Mainichi Shimbun reported. The leading newspaper said Heizo Takenaka, the minister of fiscal and economic policy, will likely announce the downward revision of the GDP growth forecast at a meeting of the Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy scheduled on Thursday.
