18 June 2001, 10:53  BOJ Downgrades Economic Outlook

The Bank of Japan downgraded its outlook for the Japanese economy in its monthly report. The BOJ says Japan's economy will continue its adjustments in the near term, with a downturn in capital spending seen as a worry. The BOJ is also said downward pressure on prices could increase. The BOJ left its monetary policy unchanged at its June 15 board meeting. It next meets June 28.
