15 June 2001, 12:36  BOJ board votes unanimously to keep monetary policy unchanged

Tokyo, June 15 (BridgeNews) - Despite intense political pressure to conduct a further monetary easing, the Bank of Japan decided to keep its policy unchanged. Central bank policy board members voted unanimously to continue to trade the unsecured overnight call loan near 0% and keep the current account at 5 trillion yen. The minutes of the meeting will be released at 1400 JT on July 18. The policy board is due to meet again June 28.
