15 June 2001, 12:29  US Equities Review: Sharply lower on merger, profit woes

New York, June 14 (BridgeNews) - Concern that the General Electric/ Honeywell (HON) merger would not go through, and persistent fears about the outlook for corporate profits left the Dow industrials with triple digit losses Thursday, and dragged the Nasdaq down more than 3%. The Nasdaq ended down 77.59, or 3.66%, to 2044.07. The Dow Jones industrial average was down 181.49, or 1.67%, to 10690.13 and the S&P 500 was down 21.73 or 1.75%, to 1219.87.
