15 June 2001, 12:03  Sterling rises to one-week high against dollar

0759 GMT - Sterling sets one-week peaks against dollar for second day running, rising above $1.4030 , on back of broad-based dollar weakness, traders say.
- Dollar undermined after head of leading U.S. manufacturers group on Thursday urged the U.S. government to relax strong dollar policy.
- Sterling now about 3-1/2 cents above 15-year lows set this week. Next chart barrier seen around $1.4050.
- UK's Europe Minister Hain said earlier euro progress must be "cautious".
