13 June 2001, 09:15 Nasdaq closes flat, Dow higher after late rally
New York, June 12 (BridgeNews) - The Nasdaq closed flat and the market
ended higher as stocks rebounded from earlier losses tied to a profit
warning from Nokia (NOK). Traders say New York Federal Reserve Bank
President William McDonough's remarks -- that a second-half recovery is
still the most likely scenario and that inflation is not of concern -- may
have given the market a late boost. The Nasdaq closed down 0.84, or 0.04%,
to 2169.94. The Dow Jones industrial average was up 26.29, or 0.24%, to
10,948.38.
