1 June 2001, 13:08  UK CIPS May manufacturing index 46.4 vs revised 47.7 in April: sources

LONDON (AFX) - The UK Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply's manufacturing index fell to 46.4 in May from an downwardly revised 47.7 in the previous month, according to market sources. The following table provides a breakdown of the results of the CIPS' latest survey. A reading above 50 signals expansion, below it contraction. The greater the divergence the more rapid the rate of change.
All figures are seasonally adjusted.
