TOKYO (AFX-ASIA) - U.S. President George W Bush's chief economic policy adviser Lawrence Lindsey said the economy is "probably ... growing at roughly a 1.0 pct rate or so," and is being supported by consumers. "We have an adjustment process going on from very high tech rates (of investment spending), now slowing, which will actually be negative for GDP growth and we have a consumer who continues to spend quite well and they are roughly balancing out," he told the Financial Times.
